our love story

It's the kind of story you hear about in those cheesy romantic movies! Anthony and I met in July of 2017. I just finished my first year of college and Anthony just graduated high school. Both of us never had partners before, so we were really inexperienced with love. Needless to say, both of us were ready to meet people and have relationships. My best friend (now maid of honor), Victoria, was dating Anthony's friend, Alec at the time. The two of them heard us talking about wanting a relationship, so they decided to set Anthony and I up. They gave Anthony my phone number and he texted me. Our first conversation consisted of learning each other's names and talking about our favorite waterslides. A week later, Anthony came to my house for our first official meeting where we spent the day outside talking about our lives while he tried to teach me how to longboard (to this day I still cannot longboard). We instantly connected. The following night, Anthony came to my house again where he asked me if I would do him the honor of being his girlfriend. I accepted of course and we spent most of the night laying on the hood of his car and talking to each other until we fell asleep. The rest is history! 

It was August 21, 2022 when our lives changed forever. We were on vacation in the Bahamas and we were scheduled to take pictures at sunset with one of the photographers at the resort as part of our vacation package. We first took photos throughout the gardens and gradually made our way towards the beach. As we walked to the beach, the photographer said that there was a lighted wooden archway that was leftover from a wedding that happened that day so he suggested we take some pictures under it. Little did I know that Anthony actually had the archway set up because he was planning to propose and the photographer was in on it. We took some pictures under the structure and then the photographer said that we were all done. Then, Anthony said "actually can we take a few more?" He pulled me under the archway and started to give me a speech about how much he loves me as he gets down on one knee! I was so surprised and excited that I instantly said yes! After I said yes, I took the ring from him and put it on my finger myself! What can I say?? I was excited! The photographer captured everything! The best part of it all is that there was a restaurant that was on a pier right where we took our pictures so there were tons of people watching the proposal and they cheered after I said yes! It was truly a magical and unforgettable night.
